    Allen to skip voluntary workouts

Vikings defensive end Jared Allen said he isn’t going to participate in the team’s non-mandatory offseason workout program, which starts on Monday at Winter Park.

Lots of players do their own work outs. If you could choose to be in Minnesota in fall or Florida, or someplace warm, where would you go?

Re: Allen to skip voluntary workouts

While he was out of the country, Allen said he contracted a company to transform the garage at his Arizona home into a gym, and he plans to work out there.
While he played for the Kansas City Chiefs, Allen participated in the team’s workout program. But a few offseasons ago, he worked out on his own and got terrific results.

“The year I didn’t work out (with the team), I got in so much better shape,” Allen said. “I had a good core of trainers.

“So why mess up a good thing?”
Yeah he wants to make working out easier, what a piece of shit.

No I didn't bother to read a article.
I just haphazardly go mucking about on the web and randomly pull articles in and hope they are good reads....

Of course I read the article.
    Did you read the title?
He isn't gonna work out with the team.
I think I have been pretty consistent on my feelings about cats that deem it not necessary to skip the "Voluntary" (Put that in so you would realize I knew they were voluntary) workout programs.

Besides, he said, the time away helps him “clear his mind,” and he wants to spend quality time at his offseason home in Arizona.

"I own a house in Arizona, so I do want to spend some time here," he said.

But Allen said he will be in Minnesota to attend a benefit for Fitzgerald's late mother next weekend, and he certainly will be at Winter Park for the team's mandatory mini-camps. "Honestly, this is probably the most excited I’ve been," Allen said of the upcoming season.
So, he's had a history of getting better results working out on his own, and he wants to continue that.

    I'm cool with that.

    Again, but simpler.
