Allen eager for training camp

    Allen eager for training camp

    By CHIP SCOGGINS, Star Tribune

The Vikings convened Friday for the start of their mandatory three-day minicamp at Winter Park. New defensive end Jared Allen jokingly referred to the no-pad, no-tackle workout as "underwear" practice and said he would just as soon move right ahead to training camp.

    So is Vikes_King......

    i'm in love

"Put all the pressure in the world on us," Allen said. "Expectations should be high. Winning is expected. That's not a hopeful thing. It's not like, 'We hope to get here.' We expect to win the NFC North. We expect to go to the playoffs, and we expect to do well in the playoffs. We expect to go to the Super Bowl. That cannot be put on the back burner. I came here because I expect to win. That's the attitude this organization has."

"We’ll win our own Super Bowl, with our own players. Real Vikings. Something Brett Favre can never be."

Legal issues aside.....Allen will make Mckinnie either sink or swim.

We all know he struggles against speed rushers and the coaching staff is going to get to watch him either get made a fool of or actually improve.

If anything I hope he can make McKinnie a better pass blocker, going up against somebody of Allen's talent should get McKinnie ready for just about anybody.

Edwards said he caught a little flak from defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier for his comments, but he didn't back away from them.
I guess I was not the only one.
