Most importantly, Allen has reached a point where he clearly understands how valuable football is to him, that it's something he will not jeopardize again.

"Jared was always a very good player before all the things he went through but now he has even more reasons to strive to get better. You're talking about a guy who went from being a 10.5-sack guy to a 15.5-sack guy in one season -- and that's with only 14 games last year.
He's a rare breed." -former teammate Boomer Grigsby.

He's already developed a comfort level in his new city, as he's found a home in Minneapolis along with two boats to keep on one of the nearby lakes.
    the new love boats?

You couldn't get jacked up for John Randle, were you in a coma those years?
    ;D
Not really anything against Randle, he was fun to watch too, but I liked Millard's personality. I got to meet him a few different times while I lived in the Metro area at Joe Senser's bar and he was a character. It seems Allen is like that in some way's, although hopefully he isn't going to be seen drinking at Senser's.

I don't really give a shit if the guy drinks or not.
Hell, my body took similar abuse to what those guys go through, and I definitely appreciated having a nice cold beer when I returned from a deployment.

As long as he doesn't drive, he should be fine.
Hell, he's popular enough to ask a random guy at a bar for a ride, and he'd probably get one.

Re: Allen bringing excitement, energy to Vikings

This whole offseason has generated alot of optimism. Jared is just the topping on the cake. I like this quote by Childress, "You really can't put a price tag on the way he plays the game. His energy is infectious."

The whole Viking Nation has been infected, and the sky is the limit for this team this upcoming season.
