Re: Albert Haynesworth
I disagree, I think Ced is definitly a CB to stay, there not easy to find and he's playing very well. As far as him playing better after the bye week I stand by that statement, we faced the Texans at home and he started off right there shuting down one of the NFL eltite WR's in Andre Johnson. His play continued to get better throughout the rest of the season.
Getting EJ back, hopeffully getting Pat back, and inserting Tyrell as a Safety is going to give our a team possibly the most dominant run defense we have seen. I think next year is going to be a specail one for our defense.

I don't understand your argument.
Do you believe Ced is better than Asomugha?

Re: Albert Haynesworth
For one thing Ced hasn't played any Safety since College and even then he played very little because he was valuable to Texas as a CB. Moving him to Safety at this point would be moronic for the simple fact that he's palying good CB in our scheme, not to mention there is a certain adjustment period he would have to make and our starting safety's are in place with Madeui and Tyrell, as far as backups we'll look to shore that up this offseason.
I would not be against adding Asomugha to our team as he is a dynamic player and would free our defense up to doing alot of different things. However I would not move Griffin to Safety, I would keep a rotation of Asomugha, Winfield and Griffin at CB then when Winfield's contract is up I would allow Asomugha to fill that postion full time and into the future with his counter partner in Griffin.
In saying all this its quite the pipe dream to even imagine. Number one the Raiders would have to be dumb enough to allow the best CB in the game to hit the market, number two we would have to sign him to largest contract a CB is likely ever seen, and number three we would have to demote one of our starters to backup.
In the end we've had the "move Griffin to safety" arguement in in depth threads, I've always been against it and so far I've been correct in determining it will never happen. I'm even more confident in that statement after seeing how he finished the season.
Our best bet to solidifying the CB position for the future is looking to the draft. Right now we have two very capable guys but I wouldn't doubt it if Winfield's in his last season as a Viking. However I would gladly keep him on at the right price and the right position(Nickle CB).

Re: Albert Haynesworth
Lets hope that Winfield is re-signed after this season as i see at least 2-3 solid years as a starter in a zone scheme for him.
i wouldn't want to see him go lay the wood elsewhere!

They can only use the franchise tag on him one more year and then it is his decision whether or not he leaves so that is a terrible argument.
Another terrible argument by you is that we bring in arguably one of the best CB's in the league and demote a guy who has been somewhat of a liability in the past?
Yeah sounds like a bad idea to me to.
NOT TO MENTION that it would help out the play of our 2nd year safety who is being thrown into the mix.
Even though STJ started 6 games or whatever it was, he is still very raw and this addition would easily sure up this defense for a long time.
Throw in Udeze/Robison/Edwards mix at LDE and we are basically set besides adding depth on defense.

secondly, moving Griff to safety is a move i would have supported last yar or in the middle of the season, but based on the way he played towards the end of the season, where he was allowed to play physical with WR's he played even better than Toine.. so if we're gonna move anyone to safety, i'd say let's move antoine to safety... that would give us two safeties with man to man skills as well as a guy back there who can tackle extremely well...
and it is possible to move to safety from corner successfully and with in an offseason... shoot, many players have done it antrolle rolle being one of them!

Re: Albert Haynesworth
Nice call on moving Griff to safety, but I think when the D allowed him to play more physical with WRs, we saw a lot more positive plays out of him.
I'd hesitate moving him right as he's finding his niche.Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.
