They can't be signed for now

Getting the additional picks was valuable because teams were not allowed to sign undrafted college players afterward because of the NFL lockout. While that process eventually will happen -- Vikings officials worked on ranking those prospects Saturday night -- Spielman was glad to get as many new additions as possible.

"To have eight draft picks and knowing that you don't have college free agency, we thought that was valuable because we know we have those eight guys for sure," he said.

I heard on NFLN yesterday near the end of the draft they were wondering how many of theys guys may look at the CFL and UFL to get a paycheck depending on how long the lockout lasts

Can we not concentrate on the 2011 UDFA instead?
I feel like the 20111 UFDA is a little far ahead to worry about right now. :P

I can't figure out for the life of me why linebacker Mark Herzlich went undrafted. He was a beast in college and has so good potentials. He is a complete linebacker with excellent size.

That's the number one guy I want the Vikings to sign.

... Then I would like us to sign another receiver. There are some Wes Welker type of receivers like Dane Sanzenbacher and Jeff Maehl that didn't get drafter who could be worth a look, but I was thinking more of an outside guy who is the bigger need as Sidney Rice and Berrian are questionable. On a second note, with Ponder at QB a Wes Welker type of receiver would be a great fit as the offense will likely emphasize route-running and short passes more.

this guy sounds pretty good. 400 freakin tackles. get the lockout over. can we still boo goodell?

    12. Nick Bellore, LB, Central Michigan: Bellore made a ton of tackles for the Chippewas over his college career, with 90 last season and more than 400 total. He looked good in the position drills at the combine and ran a 4.84 40.

Which is why he fell, but he was a top linebacker in the ncaa before that and did return to playing last year.

pretty sure teams are afraid of a re-occurance.
