The 2009 NFL Draft: CB Prospects

There were two positions that really underwhelmed at the combine: running backs and corner backs. Most of the CB's underperformed compared to expectations. However, some of the overlooked players really surprised at the combine (Sean Smith, Coye Francies); there are some diamonds in the rough to be had. The question is whether or not Jerry wants to go after a CB with a high draft pick.

Re: The 2009 NFL Draft: CB Prospects

    Interesting read.
    Thanks Marr!

With the new NFL rules, maybe, "won't deliver the big hits," is going to switch from a Con to a Pro!!????

First time I remember seeing Sean Smith ranked that high...But, a 6'4" CB/S that runs 4.53 in the 40 is impressive.
    Dang.

Does Butler's "struggles in man coverage," make him a better fit in a Tampa2?
Sounds like he's one of the better return guys in this draft...
Control the line, control the time, and give your D a chance to shine!!

I would like to see Butler in our scheme.
Not sure how much credibility that carries as I've never seen him play other than some youtube stuff... ;D

Vontae Davis would be great pick at 22 but i doubt he will make it that far down the board.

+1 but apparently we are satisfied with guys like Paymah. Sounds like something out of a Star Wars movie.

By the way this is just some Bears fan. Not sure why he thinks Smith will not translate well into the NFL. Winfield is smaller and ran a 4.41 second 40. This guy will be a stud in the NFL.
