For the Vikings to stay on top, they must stop Cardinals' wide receivers

( ... and the Cardinals' other star wide receiver Anquan Boldin, may I add
    )

With so many critical games on the docket in the final three weeks of the season, let's start off this week by crediting the NFL's schedule-makers. When it comes to "matchups to watch," they've come up with plenty down the stretch.

The Vikings have had great success in containing some of the widely considered best WRs in the NFL this year. Anyone remembers Andre Johnson in week 9, or Steve Smith in week 3? Those guys are considered to be at least among the top 10 receivers in the NFL. The Vikings secondary might be facing their hardest task this week though. Not only do they have to cover one of the best WRs in the NFL, but two of them.

    I'm talking
    Larry Fitzgerald
    and
    Anquan Boldin.
The one is the youngest player to reach 400 receptions, the other is the fastest player to reach it.

Stop the QB and the WRs can't get the ball.
I would think they will try to throw short passes.

Warner should fumble atleast 2 time in this game.
    LOL!
Hopefully he will then hurry into some bad throws.

    Screw the cardinals.

The Vikings are going to lay a 40 burger on them.

I don't think we can stop the receivers, they are just too good for us.
BUT, I think if we can put pressure on Warner we can disrupt his timing and he will make some bad decisions.
There is no way they can run against us and if Warner has time to sit back in the pocket he will pick us clean.

    - hmmmm, we held Reggie Wayne, Marvin Harrison, Steve Smith, M. Colston &
Andre Johnson. The only WR to burn us was Calvin Johnson....and he only had 3 catches (but one long one).

IMO, to think the Vikes are going to, or have to completely shut down the Cards pasing game is a mistake.
Field position, ball control and limiting the usual mistakes (stupid penalties and turnovers) will give them a chance..
I don't think just utilizing four pass rushers in this game will get it done.
Disguising blitzes early and often is the way to go.

I expect a lot of tackles from Griffin so I started him in my fantasy league.....hehehehe........hopefully he can add a pick or two with all the chances he will get.

This is gonna take a total team effort to win this.

O has to sustain drives and score TD's or we will have a repeat of the Indy game.

TJ needs to use his legs just as much as he uses his arm.

OL needs to protect the QB.

WR/TE's need to get open and hold onto the ball.

RB's need to hold onto the ball as well as pick up the blitz.

DL has to get pressure on Warner from the front 4 without having to blitz LB'rs all the time.

CB's need to stay with thier WR's just a tick longer so the DE's can get to the QB.

S's need to not bite on the play action allowing the WR's to get deep.

ST's need to win the field position battle for us and not allow any huge gains.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

True to all the above...and we have to limit their WR yutzes YAC.

and none of them are as good as fitz and boldin (maybe steve Smith)

Wayne is great, fitz and boldin are better.
Harrison is old, and has lost a step.
Smith is inconsistant, sometimes he'll put up 206 yards, sometimes 12, Colsen hasn't done jack this year.
Andre's been doing well, and we contained him well, be we had the luxury of double and triple teaming him, because the texans don't ahve another weapon.
    (Same with the panthers)
We can't focus on one reciever this game, or the other will Kill us.
