I picture the Vikings squad just stewing and ready to crush some bones this weekend. I know I would be (excuse me while I slam my head into the wall a few times).

Pretty good read, but calling us clueless against the run is very unfair ... except for one long run that really was against a dejected and tired defense, we have looked VERY good against the running game.

    Re: Preview: Saints @ Vikings

Just to review, the main weaknesses of the Saints are:

    - Deuce McAllister tends to get stuffed at the point of contact. He occassionally has big runs, but he gets stopped at the line far too often.

    - Joe Horn is 33.

    - The QB is very inconsistent and erratic. He can be very good, but he can also be very bad. Crowd noise (hello, Minnesota !) should help fluster him.

    - The Saints defensive line absolutely cannot stop you when it is a "power running" situation, i.e., 3rd and 2 or 3rd and 1, etc. They just don't stop you in those situations. [just have Daunte dive forward, or have Kleinsasser or Fason ["pound the pill"].

    - Their offense is "less than the sum of its parts". In other words, good talent that they have never been able to put together. (Aaron Schatz: "they need to blow up their roster and start over").

    - The secondary, except for Mr. Dreadlocks (Mike McKenzie) is soft.
    - This will be their 3rd game in a row away from home and hearth. Hotel living is getting real, real old...

    - The dome is going to be loud as usual, and I think there are going to be some guys in purple with a bit of a chip on their shoulder this Sunday (to put it mildly) !

That is a great preview. I can't wait for Sunday. Just hope Deuce doesn't run wild. The time is now!

Deuce is can be a power runner. He has some speed too. I wouldn't understimate him.

There isn't a WR on our team that can compare to Joe Horn. He is in the top tier of WRs in the NFL. Awesome receiver that doesn't get much press.

Aaron Brooks is as inconsistent as they come. He has shown virtually no leadership skills. He is considered a local folk hero by some Saints fans because he gave them their only playoff victory....ever. Even though Blake was the main reason they made it to the playoffs that year. That was the year that the Vikings destroyed them in the next round of the playoffs.

The Saints D is greatly improved from last year, but is still full of holes. The Vikes should be able to move the ball on them. I think we all know that Mr. Dreadlocks has been toasted many times against the Vikes...I bet he's breathing a lot easier now that Moss is gone and Burleson is sitting. Defending our WRs is an order of magnitude easier than it was last time he met up against the Vikings.

The Superdome is a loud place too. The road games and trauma they have been through has to be wearing on them. By the time the games are played this weekend the Saints may not be the only homeless NFL team.

The Vikes come alive this weekend and mercilessly destroy the Saints.
