Last Game v. Packers
The fi rst time the Vikings and Packers met was on October 22,
1961, the 6th game of the Vikings inaugural season. The Vikings fell
33-7 at Met Stadium only to turn around the following week and lose to
the Packers again, 28-10 at Milwaukee.
The Vikings and Packers last met on November 11, 2007, at Lambeau
Field in the 10th week of the 2007 regular season, a game which
the Packers won 34-0. It was the fi rst time the Vikings had been shutout
in regular season play since 1991.
QB Brooks Bollinger started his fi rst game as a Viking, completing
16 passes for 176 yards. Rookie RB Adrian Peterson (11 carries for 45
yards) averaged over 4 yards-per-carry before leaving the game with a
knee injury in the third quarter. RB Chester Taylor excelled in limited
work following Peterson’s departure, gaining 37 yards on just three carries,
a 12.3 yard-average. Taylor also caught two passes for 59 yards.
Playing against his former teammates, WR Robert Ferguson led
all receivers in the game with six catches netting 59 yards for the Vikings.
Vikings 2007 Defensive MVP LB E.J. Henderson led all defenders
with 11 tackles, a total matched by teammate S Dwight Smith. In his
second week fi lling in for an injured CB Antoine Winfi eld, rookie CB
Marcus McCauley was 2nd among all defenders with eight tackles. DE
Erasmus James, DT Kevin Williams, and Henderson were all credited
with quarterback hurries.
GAME NOTE: C Matt Birk played in his 100th career game.

Re: Last Game v. Packers
I had an uncle that owned a farm outside Loganville, Wisconsin. (Being outside Loganville is quite easy).
This is about 40 years ago.
I was 12.
He was getting on in years, and as his sons got older, and his back got sorer, he branched out employment-wise into a more back-friendly line of work than dairy farming. He became an insurance salesman, with a territory consisting of Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota.
One day he was getting ready to leave to service his turf.
I watched him go into his trunk, whip out a set of Minnesota license plates, take off the Wisconsin ones, and of course install the Minnesota ones. I asked him why.
He said:
"Well, when I go to Illinois I have no problems, but when I travel to Minnesota with Wisconsin plates on my car, I couldn't sell life insurance to a man on his death bed."
I asked why.
He said:
"Vince Lombardi and the Green Bay Packers."
I understood that answer and liked it a lot. I still do.
Good luck this Monday night.
I have a fair portion of my quota of fond memories, and would not begrudge you gentlemen and ladies a new piece of source material, you have in fact earned it, as evidenced by this board and those posting upon it.
I'll save the smack for the Packers Suck thread.

Re: Last Game v. Packers
History will not repeat itself!
I foresee Chester and AP combining for over 150 yards and no turnovers from Tjack!
We are going to go deep early, with success!
Also, I think AP and Chester will grab about 8 receptions too.
VIKES 31 / pack 12
