LAST TIME VS. SAN FRANCISCO – The Vikings scored 24 first half points and went on to win 40-16 over San Francisco (10/24/99).

Jeff George, in his first start as a Viking, completed 15 of 28 passes for 250 yards and three touchdowns. Leroy Hoard led the way on the ground with 105 yards on 17 carries (6.2 avg.) and one touchdown. Moe Williams had the Vikings other rushing touchdown. Cris Carter led the squad in catches (7) while Matthew Hatchette led the team in receiving yards (88). Hatchette had a 80-yard catch for a
touchdown in the second quarter that was the sixth longest catch in club history.

John Randle intercepted the first pass of his 10-year career. Mitch Berger had a career-long 75-yard punt. Dwayne Rudd deflected one
punt and forced a safety (holding call in end zone) on another. Ed McDaniel had two sacks.
