Oh it was the Donald Driver slant

1 step forward and after he took one step to the right Rodgers threw it

The LB was looking for the run first then started to get into coverage

Greenway was not in the throwing lane cuz it was a perfect quick slant

Re: Jeff Garcia versus the Vikings

Overall Garcia has played three games against the Vikes (2 in S.F. and one in Detroit).
He has a record of 0-3 while putting up these amazing stats:
    42-89, 422 yards, 0 TDs and 6 Interceptions. A great QB rating of 47.2.
Hopefully we can continue to make him struggle when facing the Vikes!

This is the best pick I could find of a formation

On the left side if the WR takes 2-3 steps in and the ball is out right away there is no way the LB can be there quick enough.. It's all on the corner.. A couple steps later the LB will be in position to make a tackle.. But as for coverage if you get the ball out fast enough it's not on the LB at all IMO

Of course I could be wrong and im just seeing teams hit us with the slants really fast and then our LBs are there to make a tackle

All the LB has to do is take 2 steps and he is in the passing lane my friend which takes away the quick pass.
Again, it isn't his job to run all the way out and help the CB.
Just get into the passing lane to obstruct things a bit.
And that is when they run a draw play up the middle, or bring the TE accross the field on a drag route, to keep the LB honest.
Did you see what Leslie did with JA when the PUKERS tried to do that last weekend?

Thing of beauty to watch a big man out in coverage.

    ;D
I'm not a fan of dropping our star pass rusher into coverage. It's just a huge gamble. Sometimes it works, but usually it's a failure.

Actually that's his completion percentage, his QB rating against the vikings is even worse, 31.1. ;D

Oops ... that is his completion percentage. BUT ... his QB rating is a 33.1 (33.07 to be precise) Pretty horrible either way!

Don't get me wrong, I think the big boys should go after the QB as well, however, if you mix it up by sending 2 LB'rs into the gap and dropping a DL it messes with the QB's head as well as thier blocking schemes resulting in a better pass rush because of the confusion.

In case you haven't noticed, alot of teams do this by the way.

Yes they do and Marr is correct.
It is a good scheme to drop the DE back sometimes.
It messes up certain rythems and makes tehm think twice about dumping off screens as well as quick slant passes.
