This one you can see a slot WR and I think a LB would be in position to make a play on a slant to him
But line him up on the other side the LBS won't be able to make a play on a quick slant IMO
They are just too far away and in the Bucs game they will be concentrating more on Peterson anyway

This one I agree with you on.
The CB is left out there "On an Island" and the play is on him.
However, if you take the LB and put him right behind or off the outside shoulder of the DE then all he has to do is take 2 steps and he is in the passing lane forcing the QB to either wait (allows the DE to get there in his face) or go to another reciever.

This is the best pick I could find of a formation
On the left side if the WR takes 2-3 steps in and the ball is out right away there is no way the LB can be there quick enough.. It's all on the corner.. A couple steps later the LB will be in position to make a tackle.. But as for coverage if you get the ball out fast enough it's not on the LB at all IMO
Of course I could be wrong and im just seeing teams hit us with the slants really fast and then our LBs are there to make a tackle
All the LB has to do is take 2 steps and he is in the passing lane my friend which takes away the quick pass.
Again, it isn't his job to run all the way out and help the CB.
Just get into the passing lane to obstruct things a bit.
Re: Jeff Garcia versus the Vikings
Jeff Garcia will play to lose next game against the Vikes.
Why?
Cause a good
Viking fan and PPO er is his lil bro.

Garcia should have been a Viking in 2005.
You're correct but I don't think that does us any good now
;D
Could you imagine if this team had a steady/consistent QB these past two years?
We likely wouldn't have gotten Peterson, so I'm glad we didn't get him.
Gus against Tampa, 0-4. Numbers are not as bad as Garcia's but still pretty ugly.

But a slant is just like a step forward and 2-3 the right/left
He would not be in the lane at that point unless Gus holds the ball and the WR keeps running

And that is when they run a draw play up the middle, or bring the TE accross the field on a drag route, to keep the LB honest.

Did you see what Leslie did with JA when the PUKERS tried to do that last weekend?
Thing of beauty to watch a big man out in coverage.
;D

for someone who hates the packers so much, it seems you really go out of the way to emphasize their name ;)

Here Marr.. Perfect slant.. 25 seconds in
Drive takes two steps in and Rodgers gets rid of it quick.. The LB would have no chance to get in the lane
