    35 Questions with Ragnarok

    PP.O name: Ragnarok
    Real name: Kristopher Robert Jacobson
    Age: 31
    Current City: Robbinsdale, MN
    Hometown: Buffalo, MN
Occupation: Electrical Assembler / Tech Support

    1) How did you choose your screen name?
My first one: Pretty much sums up my devotion as a fan of the Vikings - VikesFan4Life.
My second: Felt I needed to change it; kept getting confused with others with similar names.
    And it sounds cool.
In a nutshell, "Ragnarok" in Norse Mythology is similar to "Armageddon".
    Just colder.

    2) Could you tell us a little about where you grew up and about your family?
I grew up in Buffalo, MN, a smallish town at the time.
I am the oldest of 3; one half-brother and one half-sister.
Everyone in my family is at some level is a Vikings/Twins/Wolves/Gophers/Wild fan.
I don't think my 90 year-old grandmother misses a game of any of them.
I'm in a relationship with my live-in girlfriend of 9 years, no kids as of yet, and we're not in a hurry for any either.

    3) What type of student where you in High School? Did you play in any sports or where you involved with any school clubs and such?
I'm intelligent, but was bored with school for the most part.
I was/am a huge dork/nerd/geek, but I did very well in Phy. Ed., Art, Music, German (1, 2, 3), and History.
    Math, not so much.
As for sports, I really wanted to play football, but my Mom wouldn't let me, but I was in wrestling my Freshman year.
    Wasn't very good at it.

    4) What did you do after High School?
I went to Brown College (Institute at the time) for Information Systems for about 6 months, got bored with that and decided to get a job.

    5) What was your first job?
My first "real" job was a Welder at Modine Airsystems in St. Paul, MN (now an ApplianceSmart).
    My Dad also worked there.
Later, I hurt my wrist and ended up on light duty, where I learned electrical panel wiring and such, and when I was healed up (8 mos.), they had already replaced me and didn't need me in welding anymore.
    In electrical I stayed.

    6) When did you decide to be such a dedicated fan of the Minnesota Vikings?
    At birth.
I don't think I had a choice, but I would have chosen the Vikings anyway!

    7) Could you tell us one of your favorite memories that has to do with the Vikings or one of its past or present players, coaches, etc.
95% of the The '98 season, 2004 Lambeau playoff game, and AD's 296 yard rushing game last season.

Cool How did you come to find PP.O and what attracted you most to the site?
You know, I can't really remember how I found it, but it seemed to be the best fan site at the time in '03.
    And it still is!

    9) What other sports teams do you follow?
Twins (casually), Gopher Football (ugh) and the Big Ten as a whole, Wild hockey.
I am the rare sort that enjoys Arena Football as well; I wish we had a team here.

    10) When you are not on PP.O what could you likely be found doing with your spare time?
Building PCs, Nitro R/C, old-school video games, fishing, camping, running, and cycling.
    A bit of TV.

    11) Do you say a special prayer before Vikings games?
I'm not the religious type, so no.
I just hope that no one gets hurt, and that they WIN!

    12) Where do you watch away Vikings games?
At home, but I'd like to go to an away game sometime.

    13) What is your worst fear?
    I don't really worry about things I can't control.
I suppose spontaneously combusticating would be a slight concern of mine...

    14) What type of hobbies do you enjoy?
PCs, Nitro Radio Control, video games, fishing, camping, running, cycling, my scooter (be nice!).

    15) What is your favorite food?
I love all kinds, so it's hard for me to decide which is my favorite.
    Probably Mexican.

    16) Where are some of the places you have been, and where are some of your favorites.
This past summer my GF and I took a week long vacation in Las Vegas and went to the Grand Canyon.
    Incredible.
Other places I've been: Cali, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey; all on a 3-week over-the-road trucking ride-along with my Dad.
Quite the experience, not enough space here to tell the whole story.

    17) What is one thing you've always wanted to do, but haven't done yet in your lifetime?
    Go up into outer space.
Hopefully it's something I'll get to do without having to drop an obscene amount of money.

    18) If you could live anywhere where would it be?
    Japan.
I love the culture, and Japanese Anime, so it would be great for me.
The food would take some getting used to though.
I guess Hawaii would be a close second.

    19) Do you believe the Vikings will have their big day someday? When they do win the Super Bowl, what will be the first thing you think you will do?
I'd like to think so, I just hope it's here in MN and in my lifetime!
I think I might actually cry if it happens...

    20) Up to this date, what is one of your favorite PPO memories?
I don't always get a chance to spend a ton of my time here, so I'm not privy to some of the stuff that's gone/going on, and due to my quiet nature, I don't chime in as much as I probably should.
Still working on that Gary Anderson 1G!

    21) Any bad habits?
I have the tendency to ramble on a bit about things sometimes.
    I've never smoked.

    22) Do you have any tattoos or piercings?
I'm surprised I don't have any tattoos by now; I wanted one in the worst way in high school.
    Piercings aren't really my thing.

    23) What type of music do you like?
I like mostly classic rock and metal.
    Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, Metallica, etc.

    24) If you could have 3 wishes granted, what would they be?
    Just one:
    300 billion dollars.
That way I can get all the things I want and go move away somewhere and disappear.
Give my other 2 wishes away to someone else.

    25) Name 1 thing not many people know about you.
    I'm a fan of Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 - 1750)

    26) If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I'd love to have Jedi powers.
Not sure if that counts, but I'd enjoy it a lot.

    27) If given a complete freedom to start afresh, what profession would you choose and why?
Lol, I can't even decide what to have for dinner on a nightly basis...

    28) What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
I'm pretty boring, but me and my friends used to have roman candle fights and have contests on who could jump from the highest place.
I always won - no broken bones!

    29) Which is the most funniest prank played on you or played by you?
I'm not really the prankster type, and I can't recall ever being punked by anyone.

    30) If you were stranded on a lonely beach, what are the five things that you would want to survive?
Plenty of food, water, generator, gasoline, and a laptop or a hot chick.

    31) If you could have dinner with any three people from any time, fictional or non-fictional, who would they be and why?
Albert Einstein – Just think it would be cool.
Olivia Munn (from Attack of the Show)- because she's hot.
My Uncle Robert – (where I got my middle name) he passed away a couple of years before I was born, would have been nice to know him.

    32) What's the worst lie you ever told? Did you get caught?
I accidentally stabbed myself in the knee when I was 10 with my buck knife – I told my Mom I snagged it on a barbed wire fence.
I still don't think she knows the truth...

    33) How do you deal with someone you don't like?
    It depends.
I usually just try to be civil and not start anything.
    Unless they're being a complete d-bag.

    34) What is your favorite movie and why?
I have so many favorites, I can't choose just one.
I'm partial to Science Fiction in particular - and it's dead right now.

    35) Which is your most cherished childhood memory?
My childhood was pretty boring for the most part, but I just miss being a kid in general and not having to worry about all the things in adult life.

I think I once said the proper way to ride a scooter was to first sit on it, then shoot yourself in the face.

    Sorry about that.

Great post, glad to know more about you!
