No. The USA has Kindergarten (5-6 year olds) followed by 12 years of formal education before college.

Typically these are formed into schools:
    Elementary: K-5 (sometimes K-4, sometimes K-6)
Middle School/Junior High: 6-8 (sometimes 5-8, sometimes 6-9, sometimes 7-9 (that's how my Jr. High was structured))
High School: 9-12 (sometimes only 10-12)
    College

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

    gotcha.

Canada had Junior/Senior Kindergarden (4-5), Elementary(6-8) Junior Elementary (9-11), Middle school(12-13), High(14-17), which was grades 9-13 for a long time, then about 10 years ago or so they cut out grade 13, now its just grade 9-12, you graduate when you're 17 or 18.

Ontario was the only province that had grade 13, cost cutting ended it after the 02-03 school year.
