What does your politic thread getting locked(which it should have been, since every other politic thread ever ever in the history of the world has been locked) have to do with topic mergers and finding them in the forums?

And I know exactly what you mean with bottling something up, I went for a long time without a Randy Moss thread, but just a few weeks ago, I kinda sorta may have derailed a thread and made it about that, but that's okay, cause I'm great.

The fact that I thought my thread shouldn't have been closed just pushed me over the edge.
Now I realize maybe my political probably should've been locked but I'm glad I got this off my chest.
You got it off of your chest...now cover up your A$$!!!

    I'm pretty power hungry.
My internet power is great and it makes up for my weakness IRL.
So keep in mind you fuck with the bull you get the horns. ;D

Also as far as merged material if you know what you want to find then the search tool is pretty useful.

If you don't know what your looking for then you probably aren't digging through five pages hoping to find it.

    This is annoying because for
example, they'll be a thread titled, "Vikings making upgrades."
Well, over the next week or so, everytime the Vikings add someone or change something... it's going in that thread.
That makes it a blast to find articles hidden on page 5 of threads.
I know there's people like me out there that don't like spending every bit of their time looking through every page of every thread on this site(don't get me wrong, I love this site)...
It's nice to see a pissed off leprachaun
    ;D.
I guess a thread called 'Vikings making upgrades' with a bunch of posts within the thread about the upgrades they are making is better than 20 individual threads spread over 7 pages.
If you're pressed for time and are interested in that topic you stop by one thread and you're done and on your way.

The problem with merging some threads, like you stated, is it's a matter of opinion.
And, with 6500+ members there will never be a time that people will agree on the matter.
The mods just have to make a judgement call and go with it.
Personally, I think the mods do a helluva job keeping things as tidy as possible around here.

If you want pure chaos, tell the moderators to not do their jobs.
The forum section of the site would take a nosedive.

I do know what your saying about to many articles & posts going into the same thread. For awhile there when all the new people Childress was adding went into the same "Generic" thread it beacame massive & too many different players were being discussed in the same thread.

That makes a thread several pages long & difficult & time consuming to find a particular article in there.

Depending on the subject matter, I tend to separate the articles out, even if its about the same player. For instance, a new thread was started about Dwight Smith playing this Sunday. I did not put it in the same old thread that was started when he signed or when he got benched. They were different subject matters.

One thing I am doing this year is putting all of the game related articles in one generic thread for that game unless it's about a players performance or what have you, in that game that could go off on another discussion. I.E "Williamson has to step up" is a good example where a new thread should & was started.
