The Worst Present You Ever Bought Thread
Alright, its kindof dead. No football discussions to have no matter how hard I try, sooooooooo, I thought I would come up with a "Non-Football" related topic.
First idea was "Threaded Discussion Tips" but that quickly fell to the way side as I pondered the gifts I've recently purchased for Wildwoman.
So, here goes, rules for the thread are minimal. Just post what you believe the worst gift you ever bought for anyone. The following is a basic structure to follow but not necessary:
a. Gift Name
b. Who the gift was for.
c. What was the reaction when he/she/they opened the gift.
I'll start cause I actually suck at buying gifts and can keep this thread going by myself with all the crappy ones I've bought over the years....
a. Nicorette
b. Wildwoman (My wife)
c. She didn't talk to me other than curt replies for about 2 weeks.
I'm still trying to get her to quit (I quit in 2001) but she adamantly refuses to give up here smokes my friend and riles any time I mention it.
Re:The Worst Present You Ever Bought Thread
Label maker. I re-gifted it!
Re:The Worst Present You Ever Bought Thread
Right after Jesse Ventura won the governorship of MN, I bought my wife a "My governor can beat up YOUR governor!" t-shirt.
She said it was the WORST thing I ever bought her...
Re:The Worst Present You Ever Bought Thread

Good thread topic.
I don't think I've ever bought a bad present. Usually I just buy people what they have on their want list. I do hate buying my mom kitchen appliances though. She wanted a freakin electric can opener this year and she was pretty happy she got it (we already celebrated xmas with my family due to the distance we live from them).

OUCH, that is a good one. Quick question, did the labels fall off all the time?

Your lucky. I suspect that if you give it some time, you will give something that is considered below par.
Another one of the many I've bought......
a. King James (Scofield ref) Bible
b. My Parents
c. They called my Command Officer to see if I had joined a cult
I was raised a very devout catholic, alter boy and all. When I got on a bible thumping kick about age 25 or so, I joined a local Babtist church were they gave me a Scofield Ref bible with some highlighted scriptures in it.
Suffice it to say I highlighted a series of scripture passages (Romans Road) and jotted some notes in the one I gave my parents, with a note that I hoped they liked it and would replace thier family (Catholic) bible with it.
Guess I went a bit far with that one. My grandmother, to this day, still believes I belong to a wierd cult of some sort.
Re:The Worst Present You Ever Bought Thread
I can relate, my Aunt a Southern Baptist was horrified when I converted to the Catholic faith. I think I was disowned, but no one actually said so.
