World's largest hole

I thought there was a mine in MN that was the largest and you could see it from space?

Besides, I was expecting to see Cajun's mouth!

In my time in the mining industry I was always told that the largest hole in the world was the Kennecot Copper - Bingham Copper Mine in UT.
And yes you can see it from space. (or so I have been told anyway)

I flew over the UT mine last week.
It's huge!
Did you read the string on the initial link?
Some of the Russian pride was spilling over in their posts and insults against the US.
I guess they forgot who won the Cold War...

I have flown over it a couple times as well and it is impressive, but I wasnt prepared for exactly how big it really was until I was there in the mine making a technical service call on some equipment I had sold to Kennecott.
It is unbelievable to stand on one wall of the crater and look at those big trucks on the other side making their way up or down.
