One woman is sent to the hospital Friday night after being hit by a car on the city's East side. It happened just before 7 pm at East 28th and Tuttle Avenue.
Police say 54-year-old Sharron Gunther was standing on East 28th when she was hit by 18-year-old Tyler Trott.
Officers on scene say a telephone pole may have blocked Gunther from Trott's view when he turned the corner onto East 28th. The two are neighbors on Tuttle Avenue.
Gunther did not appear to have any major injuries but was taken to Hamot Medical Center.

Ouch. That is a bad one. Just goes to show you how quickly you can get in trouble in traffic. Many sometimes seem to forget that tons of metal moving at high speeds are potentially very dangerous.
Not that you should be scared, but everyone should remember to have respect for it. I see a lot of kids and apparently middle aged men over here, that seems to have forgotten about that respect, and puts their own and others lives in danger by reckless driving.
I'm sure that this one was more of a obstructing view, accident. I've been in a car accident once myself, and it has made me remain respectful I think.
Thanks to PPE for the sig.
