Death Sentence Handed Down

In Pakistan, a Christian women is sentenced to death for making a derogatory comment about Islam's Quaran and it's prophet.

The Story

The women being sentenced to death was working on a field with a group of Muslim women. When she brought water to them the Muslim women refused to drink the water because she's a Christian and should not touch the water bowl.

A few days after this incident, the Muslim women filed a complaint to the local police saying that the women allegedly made the following comment after they refused to drink her water: (Translated)

"The Quran is fake and your prophet remained in bed for one month before his death because he had worms in his ears and mouth. He married Khadija just for money and after looting her, kicked her out of the house."

In case you're wondering; this is no joke!

The women is a Christian minority in a Muslim nation. She's 45 years old and has four children. She has been in prison since June 2009, and is now sentenced to death. She proclaims her innocence and says the accusations are false. She also says that she is being persecuted for her Christian beliefs in a Muslim majority nation.

This is wrong on so many levels.

First of all, it's just words. Simple harmless words. In Norway, you won't even receive a death sentence if you killed ten people in cold blood.

Not only is it the most ridiculous reason for a death sentenced I've heard, but there's also has no evidence of the comment taking place. It's their words against her words. Also, keep in mind that the Muslim women's accusations came several days after the allegedly incident took place.

Lastly, what about the discrimination from the Muslim women in the first plays? I actually think that was worse than the allegedly comment.
