Re: Woman rejects ballpark marriage proposal

I actually dont feel that sorry for the guy. To put that much pressure on the girl to say yes by asking her in front of all those people is horrible. I know he thought it was romantic and when he goes to the bar and tells the bartender that he so depresed because he got rejected infront of 50000 people, people will feel sorry for him but I actually say go for the girl to overcome that pressure and say what she really felt and to say no. Rather she say no then be pressured into saying yes and secretly not really love him or get married when shes not ready or secretly resent him for the rest of there marriage. And she gets boo'd on top of it. Thats terrible.

It was a bad situation for the girl now though because she'll be made out to be the bad guy for what he did and in my eyes and hers if you read above she was good in what she did. Then the guy is victimized for pressuring this girl into marrying him and failing. And she get' boo'd and made into a terrible person. So what the guy did was bad in my eyes. Lame.

There relationhip is probably over. The guy thinks she rejected him in front of 50000 people and threw popcorn in his face and the girl thinks how dare he pressure her to marry him which is a huge step in front of 50000 people and gets me bood by 50000 people and now makes me out to be the bad guy.

Any one else see it this way

    Yes.
    100%.
I don't even like people singing to me on my B-day because it's too much spotlight.
I guess it depends on the girl though, she obviously didn't like it, he obviously didn't know her well enough to marry her.
Still sucks to be either one of them.

Seems like an asshat to me.
If that is the best he can do she can't expect much out of him in the romantic arena.
He was scorned and deserved every bit of it.
It's more of a 'look at me' proposal than a meaningful interchange between two people in love.

Re: Woman rejects ballpark marriage proposal

I did not do a very good job of proposing to my wife, and we are still together.
    19 years now.

She obviously said yes, but I wish I could have been more romantic about it.
