It seems like some people just want to do it in front of as many people as possible. I don't think that should be the goal in marriage proposals.

She rejected him, because in that moment, she realized her boyfriend was asking her in a sports arena.
    How would/did you do it?

I think its interesting that the crowd boo'ed her.
For all anyone knows the guy might be the BF from hell.
Maybe she has been trying to break it off with him for months and this was his way of trying to blackmail her into saying yes, thinking she wouldn't say no in a public place .
    Maybe she isn't a bitch.
Maybe he is just an asshole.

Re: Woman rejects ballpark marriage proposal

    The year was 1998,
    a few days before Christmas....

I spent most of the day with my wifes Father, her brother and some cousins....

We went to the Co ck fights and my ( soon to be ) father in laws entry won...

We went home a bunch of happy campers....The ladies prepaired a feast to celebrate our winning day.

After this i was feeling hot and kinda dirty, so my wife and I went up to the next village of Anapog, they have a freash water mountain stream swimming hole there......I went in to cool off and Margie sat and watched.
We had a nice talk and went back to the village of Sagay ( Margie home)
    ...

She made me a hot coffee and we sat outside to watch the night sky, which can be very awesome in Cebu.

Then it just hit me, this is the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with.
I took her hand and looked into her eyes and told her the only thing that could make such a wonderful day complete would be if she would marry me.
I asked her to be my wife...

She started to cry and ran into the house...LMAO

But only a few seconds later, she came out with her parents and said yes.
She also told me her Mama and Papa approaved of me..

We where married some 10 days later on the Island of Cebu..... It took me another 16 months to bring her to the USA with me.

That alone is a whole other story, a story in which I've been told I should write a book about.....But hey, I'm not a writer at all..

Blackstar, nice to see you again...

I have not proposed yet. I imagine when I do propose, it will be somewhere private and maybe somewhere that has meaning to that particular relationship.

I have a friend who was proposed to at someone else's wedding reception. yuck.
