    Woman rejects ballpark marriage proposal

http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7141730?MSNHPHMAYou know things are wrong in Astro-land when even a wedding proposal can't go off smoothly.

During Monday night's 7-0 loss to the Nationals at Minute Maid Park, a fan failed in his public attempt at asking his girlfriend to marry him, the Houston Chronicle reported on its Web site.
With the couple on display on the stadium's jumbotron, the male fan got down on one knee to present the ring. The woman, wearing a replica Astros jersey, appeared to dump a bag of popcorn on the man before hastily making her way up the stairs amid a chorus of boos, the newspaper reported.

The man left after the top of the sixth inning, cheered and consoled by an apparently sympathetic crowd.

"If it was an act, she put on a good one," Astros manager Phil Garner was quoted as saying after the game. "She looked totally surprised and then totally mad. We couldn't even get a proposal right down here tonight.

"We lead the league in marriage proposals, and we couldn't get that one right tonight."

    lmao

I think there is an unwritten rule somewhere that states the woman is supposed to say yes no matter what...at least until they get outside of the ballpark.
Then she can be honest with the poor guy.

No shit...especially with popcorn all over the place as a constant reminder to everyone in the vicinity as to what happened.
Everyone could relive the memory over and over again.
Probably even in slow motion inside their heads....the expression on her face, the arm being raised, the popcorn bag being tilted, sheer horror on the mans face, popcorn falling, shame and embarrassment on the man's behalf.
    Poor fellow.
That woman sounds like a bitch and he's probably better off without her.

I think there should be another unwritten rule that probably should have been applied here.......

Have some sort of idea that she is gonna say yes.

Hell I knew for several months in advance that Wildwoman was gonna say yes.
Heck she almost made me ask.
    ;D

Heh, I did it at a Gopher Hockey game and I was absolutely positive she'd say yes... even then it was scary as hell..... I feel for that guy.

For all we know, somewhere along the way, she said 'if you ask me at a ball game, I will never speak to you again'

i think they made one of those bud light 'real men of genius' commercials about this guy
Have I ever told you what an outstanding humanitarian I am?

I do not understand this kind of thing.

    Its not creative.

It seems like some people just want to do it in front of as many people as possible. I don't think that should be the goal in marriage proposals.

She rejected him, because in that moment, she realized her boyfriend was asking her in a sports arena.
"There is good and there is evil. And evil must be punished. Even in the face of Armageddon I will not compromise."
