Re: Wild trade Mitchell to Dallas
Although it sucks cuz I liked Willie, it was the right thing to do..
His trade stock is a lil high and we just got another first round pick so we could trade picks with him..
Skoula is pretty decent.. Actually I think Him and Mitchell are pretty close in talent.. Skoula adds a lil better offense.. I hope him and Foster pair up! That would be a hell of a O duo for D..
And this other guy is considered a top prospect and was a 1st round pick.. So the 2nd round for him was a good deal..
Can't forget Mitchell wanted 3.5 plus a year.. So we wouldn't have resigned him anyway

I thought Skoula is a good talent but he is an underacheiver so far in the league but he is only 26.

It's never the right thing to do if it involves dallas

Re: Wild trade Mitchell to Dallas
Yah Skoula only has 15 points this year.. Still more the Mitchell im sure..
Skoula is a solid D player I guess.. I just read a little bit about him and sounds like he should be a good talent for us..
Pair him up with Zyuzen or Foster and let them shoot away

Re: Wild trade Mitchell to Dallas
I think it comes down to the Wild are unwilling to spend money, he wanted 3.5 million and the wild are such cheep skates (pun intended) that the wouldn't pay it!
If this off season they do not dring in 2 or 3 top free agents then I think the season ticket holders should start dumping their tickets, this club makes as much money as any club in the league! They can get away with not putting the best team on the ice because they are going to sell out every game, so they keep saying that they are planning for the future. Well you have been saying that for 7 years and the future needs to get here some time! What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Re: Wild trade Mitchell to Dallas
Whack we have tons of talent ready to be brought up..
Westrum is just one name that comes to mind first..
We don't need to pick up a few big name FA's.. We should get 1 that would be cool.. But we don't need 2 or 3
We got 2 first round picks coming up too.. That's even more talent..

Whack, before you get too down on Wild management imagine what would have happened if the Vikings ran the show. They would have traded Fernandez pre-lock out for some garbage and then traded Gaborik this year when he was hurt. At least they aren't giving away our best players. Roli and Mitchell were to be FA and they still got good quality for them (except the dallas trash, i'll need some time to accept them) Wild management is doing a good job building this team, the young guys just need a few more years. Look at Columbus, they go out for the flashy player to sell tickets and they stink. If we keep drafting well, they'll be perennial contenders soon enough.
