If the returner gains more than 10 yards or so past when the first coverage guy gets to the same yard like as the returner, then we all know there's a problem there.
    I will do this Sunday.

    a.
His leg is is questionable during KO's.
Take a look at the average starting position for our opponents and you will see what I speak of.

Sure, he can get it inside the 5 and even the endzone at times but he significantly sacrifices hang time to achieve that.
    a. I already proved this wrong with evidence. Not sure why it is still being discussed.
    What proof?

    1. One Minnesota, two Minnesota.......You didn't back it up with were the reciever caught it and followon field position after the hang time.......

    Face it.
Just as I have a disliking for EX-Puker players, you seem to have a affinity for them and want our whole team populated with them especially after thier careers are on the down turn..... ;D
Well it must be working because nobody is believing what you are writing. You are the only one who believes this from what I read. Look at wear he kicked it to. I am not going to waste my time on a subject that everyone already understands. It is the coverage, not Longwell.
Its more than coverage although, as I've admitted/agreed with you on, they have issues, just as Longwell has issues and just as our ST's coach(s) have issues.

The whole group needs to be worked on in the offseason and yes, that might include a new kicker who can make more than 85% of his kicks and get the ball in the endzone for a touchback vice a average starting point less than th 30 yard line.....
Getting it into the endzone would be nice but he has on occasion. I wish it was more but they seem to bring it out. There is a reason for that. Our coverage is horrible. Teams know this.
The kicker and his coverage unit work together.

He needs to get the ball down field, but with decent hangtime as well, and I don't think he has the leg to do it.
    [/quote]

He had better hang time than the guy last week. That guy was used specifically for kickoffs! This week will be an interesting test comparing him to Carney. One of the best in the game.

Or we could have picked up Crosby as I mentioned over a year ago.

Pretty hard to deny that Longwell has been awesome since coming to Minnesota.

How would he be any better?
Crosby is 81% and Longwell is 84%. Crosby is 3 for 5 over 50 and Longwell is 5 for 5.

My biggest problem with longwell is on Kickoffs. Hes part of the reason our ST suck on coverigng kicks
Cook sucks and always will. Maybe he should be a back up center.

Crosby is 81% and Longwell is 84%. Crosby is 3 for 5 over 50 and Longwell is 5 for 5.

And both percentages are in the 20's with respect to FG kicking.
Take that wonderfull stat and then add in the short ass KO's and you will see why I wonder why people on here seem to think he is Gods gift to kicking.

    Simply amazing.

    Other things to watch.....

    4.
If you can see both sidelines, the players on the field and the ball, then the trajectory is low/a line drive.
Factor that in when one considers blaming the coverage unit for allowing more than 10 yards as they will still be engaged with the blockers and haven't had time to get in thier lanes.

    5.
Are the gunners double teamed or are they left singled up.

    6.
Were the gunners forced out of bounds or did they stay in bounds.

    7. Did both gunners over run the KO or just one.
If both over run it then the kick was not kicked to the spot it was originally called for by the ST's coach.

    8. Did the formation look to be set up for a Middle, Left or Right return.
Again, did the ball go in the direction of what the return play was called for.

Seriously, your test is a good start but it really doesn't even come close to encompassing what play the ST's coach actually calls.

Of course, I am sure some of you don't even know they actually call ST's plays for silly things like KO's and P's.

Of course we know, they have it in Madden.

But joking aside, comments like that make you seem very arrogant at times Marrdo, its very condescending to constantly read shit like that.
