who makes the best shoulder pads

just wondering if anyone knows which shoulder pads are the best. my son plays ol/dl at a large high school here. next season he is a soph and he has grown out of the pads we got him for last year.
i can't find a site that compares the quality and durability or comfort of adult shoulder pads. any help would be appreciated.

I do not use the leage pads, we have Schutt pads.
They are comfortable, flexible, and help your son kick some major ass!

    go for hte riddell Ultra.
They are by far the most comfortable pads i've ever used.
They're light too!, but super strong.
Plus they're Riddell, can't go wrong.
I don't know how much they cost though, the school supplied us with equipment when i played.
I don't know if there is a Lineman version though, so if not, check out the Riddell Evolution series.

check them out, here's one link i found, but there's many more i'm sure

I"m not sure about the Schutt pads, but the Riddell's have foam paddin over the sides of the ribs, so that way if your son takes a shot to the ribs (playing lineman, i'm sure it's happened a few times) it won't slow him down at all, plus it helps keep the pads tight other players can't get hteir hands under the pads and choke him.

    i appreciate the help.
we got him riddell's the last two years and they were good pads. the school does supply pads, but i thought it would be better having new pads to play in. and the riddell's were a little better than the school pads.

they do supply pads, but the school had to cut the freshman team down to 95 players because that was all the uni's they had for freshmen, (he started for the "a" team). their pads were decent.
not as good as the riddells he had.

He out grew the schools pads?
    Wow.

If he is as good as he is big, then it is wise to get him his own gear anway. That way you can ensure it fits him, protects him well and he will play better cause he will feel better in his own gear.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg
