What is the history of PPO?
I know there have been several members here a long time. So I don't know if there are any Originals from when it first started. From what i can tell by going to the end of the Vikings forum is thsi post
http://www.purplepride.org/forums/index.php?topic=347.0
Which is from Febuary 2002, which seems to indicate a whole new baord so i assume that there was one before this. It also seems like anglo Vike was here since then since it looks like it was him Webby and a couple of others I have never heard of before. Just curious if anyone besides Webby has any insight to the PPO history?

Re: What is the history of PPO?
Webby decided one day (after a drunken orgy...he was still single then) to create a site where fellow Packer haters like himself could bash the Cheesedicks while also celebrating the greatness that is being a Vikings fan.
So PP.O was born...or something like that.
OR...Just ask Webby...he'll tell you.BANNED OR DEAD...I'LL TAKE EITHER ONE

If I remember correctly GG,
I first found PPO around April of 2000,
my son was just born and I had just bought my first computer....I'de have to say for sure PPO was alive and well in April/May 2000.
I signed up then as NordicNed, and followed and posted for some time that year and so on.
Then Webby made a change of some sort or upgraded the sight.
I couldn't log back in, and after several attempts I just gave up.
I found PPO again maybe a year later and still problems, something with my email and the name already used....Then after some time, I had a different computer and new server, I signed up as a new user with the screen name VikingNed......
Been here since, and last year during the update, I asked Webby to give me back my original name of NordicNed...
That first time around in 2000, I can't remember the names, but I think Del and Ultra where around then and Neumdog
I LOVE THE SMELL OF VICTORY IN THE MORNING AIR.

Well as I hear it, Webby was getting high off cat urine everyday and was washing boobs in a fountain.
You may have seen this on South Park.
But the truth is "Kenny" is modeled after Webby.

Re: What is the history of PPO?
Back in the early to mid '90s a bunch of Vikings fans were lost in cyberspace with no where palatable to live.
In '98 A vested man with a mission and pure Packer hatred along with a perverted love for the Vikings and their followers decided to help the wayward souls by building a home in cyberspace where the lost could rest in their wayward home.
After nearly a decade many of the lost purple faithful have found their home and it is said that some have a vestibule where they worship the vested-one and pay homage to him by offering him gay porn daily.Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please. Mark Twain

make me feel old why don't you.... I signed up on PP.O in early 2001( when it was still classed itself as the Packer Hater site) and the site had been going prior to that though not sure how many members there were at the time. Seem to recall that Webby started in in '99/00 but could be wrong on that but it was certainly in one of it's early forms at that time. I'd come from a Vikes site that closed down due the guy running it having a bit of a melt-down..lol
Neumdog would have definitely been around as he was a joint instigator behind the project albeit the silent partner.Time spent annoying a Packer fan is never time wasted...

Re: What is the history of PPO?
I joined in 2001, about 7 years ago under a different name then later created this one. There was a time when I was top 20 in posts but since that time PPO has grown and changed drasticly. PPO is the best Vikings Message board on the internet, I've been to all of them, nobody has better members, mods, or just an overall setup like this here, there's a live chat, things are well orginized and contrstucted. Webby has devoted plenty of time and has kept it up and running.
Anglo Vike and Itallion Stalion are the guys I remeber most from back when I first started. Many of the oldest members are no longer around or they just visit.
I thought I would throw in that PPO was creat in 1998 if I'm correct.
