What do the smileys mean (In Marrdro Speak)
OK.
Seems to be some confusion centered on my use of smileys of late (2 incidents in 2 different threads) specifically in relation to the
:
smiley.
Soooooo, to alleviate confusion, here is what I mean when I use a smiley.
Feel free to add what you use them for if you feel inclined.
- Mildly amused.
- You and I know what I mean and we just aren't gonna let anyone else in on it.
- I don't like this one so I never use it.
;D - Damn, your cracking me up.
Multiple "Damn, your cracking me up" smileys apply for some real funny sheeeyyat
>
- OK, you just pissed me off.
Very seldom does "Good Marrdro" use this but "Old Marrdro" used it all the time.
Seriously, this is a internet site.
What is that important that you need to get this mad over?
By the way, Multiple "OK, you just pissed me off" smileys is a bad thing...
- I don't like this one so I never use it.
- Ohhhhh sheeeeeyat.
One of the mods or Webby is gonna get your assssssss.
I will probably use a "Damn, your cracking me up" smiley right after you made your post.
8) - I just smoked something illegal.
Don't do that mutch anymore because of my job and things called responsibilities.
??? - Mostly used in the context of "That is a lame post" but could also be "What kindof yutz are you?".
Typically I only use this in very rare circumstances as it will get you a dot of some color.
:
- I am patiently waiting for a response.
Normally I use this after someone has replied to one of my posts and typically don't think your response will be much better than your first attempt but I am willing to give you the benifit of the doubt.
:P - I just gotcha and you know it.
Of course I am gonna let it slide so no one else knows.
:-[ - You just got me and I know it.
I associate this one with a need to admit that I am ready for my serving of crow.
:-X - I don't like this one so I never use it.
:-\ - I don't like this one so I never use it.
:-* - I only use this in rare instances.
Typically associated with
"I just gotcha and you know it."or when Wildwoman posts.
:'( - Typically used in times of honest remorse but can be used when someone does something I didn't expect/see coming that goes against something that I am 100% convinced is right.
Anyway, hope this helps.
;DMany many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

First, I don't like calling anyone an idiot cause I am a firm believer that we can all learn something each and every day and second, well, calling someone an idiot is just dumb. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Just seemed like an indirect way.. Not exactly calling someone an idiot
because when you use that it's usually right after you disagree with someone.. LIKEEEE
V4L: I think Longwell is awesome
Marrdro: I think SHORTWELL sucks
:
V4L: OK
Haha something along those lines
