Thread: What is this Country of ours coming to ?????????

As many of you here know, I'm facing a very big operation and also the fact that I've been waiting for my SSD to be approved.
Yesterday I recieved the decisions letter and I was denied.
This didn't suprise me because I've been told that
would be denied more likely than approved.



They came to the conclusion that I do suffer from some serious health issues that would most likely make it so that I can't continue doing what I've been doing for the past 25years.
That would be Concrete Construction.



But on the last page, they did decide I would not be approved because of the fact that they found two jobs that they felt I did qualify for and could handle with my healthy issue's.




Hold onto your hats boys and girls.
Here are the two jobs I qualify for.



1)

Bedspreed Folder



2)

Linen Folder





I don't even know what to say to this, I think I'm in shock.
What has our Goverment and it's agencys come to these days?

are those even real careers.....how do they relate to your past experience?

Doesn't one have to work their way up to a specialty like bedspreed folder by starting with pillowcases or napkins first.
Doesn't speaking english limit your ability to communicate with the others in laundry folding industry.
Sorry to hear this Ned, not trying to make light of the spot you find yourself in but rather the stupidity of the letter you received.

That sucks. Keep on fighting for it, sometimes it takes a couple of years but when you do win they will likely give you back payments from the time you first applied. I have known a couple of people to go through this and they all said it was a rediculous process.
I work with someone whos husband applied for 2 1/2 years before getting approved, I will ask her how they finally won when I see her and get back to you.
As far as the two job suggestions they offered, that is just hilarious. No offense.

I actually just looked in the HELP WANTED ADDS, here in CT.
Geez, to my amazzment there must be like 25 Adds looking for Bedspreed Folders and another dozen or so for Linen Folder...



I sense a Bright and Lucrative future in front of me.
And to think, I wasted 25 years of my life doing Concrete Construction....Geeezzzzzzzzzzzz

That sounds like a complete joke, what a bunch of morons.
I'm sure it will work out, takes time.
It's kind of like insurance claims when they say no the first time no matter what happened.
