Re: WELCOME BACK, TNT!!!
Churches, schools, community centers, town festivals.....wherever someone's putting on a craft show that draws a reasonably large crowd. we do shows all over the northern and wester suburbs, as well as some up in to Wisconsin. We've actually found that our fudge sells much better in Wisconsin - more people in Illinois are on diets.

Anyway, you Chicagoans need to find out the deal on the beanbag game...the irresistable urge that Bears fans have to toss the bag!

We haven't officialy meet yet, but I'm sure are paths will cross at one of the games & moreso on these boards.
I know you were well liked around here when you were here last.
I could tell that by the way Cajun pouted & whimpered while you were gone.
I'm sure you'll get to know me better as time passes.

AWESOME research, Jos! But the BURNING question is why is it so popular in Chicago???I just did some quick searching, 'cause I was curious too.
Different sites gave different rules, but basically you put the two boards 25-30 feet apart. Each team throws 4 bean bags in a round. A bag in the hole at the end of the round counts 3 points, and a bag on the board at the end of the round counts 1 point. The teams' points cancel each other out at the end of a round, so if Team 1 scores 3 points in a round, and team 2 scores 1 point, then team 1 scores 2 total points for the round. First team to 21 wins, though most sites include the provision that you can also win by shutting out your opponent 11-0 (slaughter rule).
If you want to make a board, the top is 24" x 48". The hole is 6" in diameter, and the center of the hole is 9" from the top of the board (centered horizontally). The front of the board is supposed to stand 4" from the ground, and the back, 12".
If you don't want to make it yourself, then here:

1999 6-10-0

1997 4-12-0

The Bean Bag game became quite popular on Sunday afternoons. Especially in the late 90's.
