Weight lifting
Kind of a random thread but I'm bored right now and was interested to see who here works out. Do you lift for a sport or just to lift? I'm just interested to see what kind of programs you are on or what lifts you do. What kind of supplements if any do you take and what kind of results are you getting? I only take creatine. We could give tips to one another and things like that.
I lift for football. 4 days a week with a heavy weight lower and upper body day doing 4 sets of 5 reps. Also a light weight lower and upper body day doing 4 sets of 8 reps. I also do running every day. Anway what do some of you guys do?

Re: Weight lifting
I lift for work, concrete work.
But in the winter I lift at the local gym, mostly to (try) stay in shape untill the next season starts.
Ironically, I'm about to start lifting again.
As for the other questions, I've used creatine when I lift, but I really don't notice a change.
As for a routine: I lift, run, lift, run. lift, run. I used to just lift but I'm getting older now and the weight is starting to linger around the waistline.
Great thread CC21, it's getting me pumped up to get started again.

Re: Weight lifting
Make sure you change your routine every 6 weeks or so.
You do not want to go stale.
Change some of the exercises plus the rep/set scheme.

Re: Weight lifting
I lift 3 days a week and I run 2 or 3 days a week.
I mainly do circuit training which is when you work out your whole body in one session. It seems to workout best for me. I take whey protein when I get home but I havn't seen the diffrerence yet.

Re: Weight lifting
Being a PE teacher I lift at the same time that my students lift. We lift twice a week. We have instituted the BFS (Bigger, Faster, Stronger) workout program so that is the program I am on. I don't use any supplements, I lift more for recreation than really body building.

I get the most pissed off looks from people with my VKG 4 LFE Wisconsin license plate, and I LOVE IT!!
