Wedding Guests Cancel for Saints Game

NEW ORLEANS - Tara Chauffe understands she'll have some competition on her wedding day. She's getting married in New Orleans Saturday evening, the same time the Saints will be playing the Philadelphia Eagles in the Superdome. Chauffe says she's already had a dozen guests who've canceled because of the playoff game.

She knows they have tickets and she's trying to be sympathetic.

But two bridesmaids and a groomsman who have seats for the game are giving them up to attend the wedding.

Chauffe and husband-to-be Corey Boland say they'll probably have a TV at the reception, so guests can track the Saint's fortunes.


But they'll turn the sound down so there won't be any cheering interrupting their first dance.

Since 1967 only one playoff win.

Weddings are usually planned one year or more in advanced...at least the reception hall and church usually have to be reserved that early to get what you want.
At 3-13 last season, the Saints were in NOBODY's list to be playing in the playoffs this year...can't really blame her for thinking that she was safe with the wedding date!

I would wheel HDTVs into the church or reception hall.
You have to have priorities after all.

(Of course, this is coming from a guy whose wedding colors were purple and gold...)

That is exactly what I was thinking. If I was a Saints fan I wouldn't miss this game for anything.

If the vikes were playing in a playoff game and I had a wedding to attend, I would definitely skip the wedding. People who get married anywhere near football season are complete morons, and they don't deserve my company at their wedding.

If the woman want to get married on SuperBowl sunday....DUMP HER

i would have to say that i would skip out on the wedding as well. UNLESS i was a bridesmaid becuase i wouldnt do that to the bride. i would tape the game in that situation.
