    We Are The Champions!

The youth football for which my son plays for and I am a coach won our leagues annual preseason tournament over the weekend.

We have a tremendous team this year.
We went 4-0 and outscored our opponents 129-0.
Never gave up a first down and only 3 plays for positive yards.

My son is the starting WR and DB.
In the championship game the first play was a fade to him and he scored on the 65 yard play.

The championship game was cut short.
In the 3rd quarter the other coach threw in the towel.
His team was getting blasted really bad and he claims he ran out of RB's.
So, we got our trophies and celebrated.
While this was going on, one of their players was on their bench dizzy.
So, they got the medical team to look at him.
The thought he may have a concussion and strapped him to a gurney and took him to the ER via ambulance.

Well...none of us even noticed until one of the moms from the other team walked by us and said that we should be very proud that we hurt another player.
We were very respectful and said we were unaware of what was happening.
If we had known, we would've killed the celebration and shown respect.
We teach our players about respect and discipline.
We believe what they learn on the field of play should help them off the field as well.
She went on about how we played dirty.
We asked her to clarify but she could not.
First, we did not play dirty and we would never allow it.
We did however hit and hit hard.
Some other parents came by to yell at us as well.
One chickenshit mom wished our entire team, including the boys, to go to hell.
She said this in passing and was totally classless.
I wanted to ask her what number her son was so that I would make sure next time we would key on him.
But, that is not the right thing to do and I do get a little aggressive when provoked.

The player who was hurt suffered a mild concussion and is ok.
He lives down the street from me nad our boys have been great friends for years.
I talked with his dad and he totally understands the game of football.
He was not upset with the physical nature of the game.
Our team is tough and we teach them to be aggressive.
I mean this is football right?
Do you want your kid whom you love to not be aggressive and risk getting the crap beat out of him?
    I would hope not.
Football is not a contact sport, it is a collision sport.
The other coach should've prepared his players a little better.
When do you ever receive the handoff and go through the line standing straight up?
Never, you will get busted in the chin.

Anyways, was a great win for us regardless of the comments we were hammered with.

(I am in the back row, far left with the sunglasses on my hat that I forgot to remove.
My son is back row far right #36)

Of course, since it's pre-season, it has no affect on TFWYLPP standings.

    =Z=
    And congrats.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

I will have to agree with the Japan coach on this one and assume that your entire team is on steroids.

    Re: We Are The Champions!

Congrats to you and the boys.

Sounds like a very dominant team.
Don't listen the the mother, she is just another one of those disgruntled parents who push thier kids to do things that they probably don't want to do.

    Enjoy your victory(ies).
    ;D
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

You never gave up a point?

    Not too shabby.

    EDIT:

    Or a first down?

It's like playing Madden on rookie with maxed out sliders!

I think the total net yards for the opposing teams was around -60.
