should the vikings cut,trade or just do nothing with o.smith?

cut his azz and kelly campbell. we are deep enough on both positions and its the right thing to do if we are "trying to clean up our image".

Doesn't this post belong in the general nfl section? I know it doesn't belong in the vikings forum section since O.Smith's azzz on the way to nfl free agency-dom.

I am at a loss as to what to do with him. We know he's potentially a great back, but at the same time I am a big believer in treating a cancer like him by cutting him out. Solid teams like the Pats don't put up with such rubbish.

i say we keep him, he is a really good back. isnt he a free agent after this season? If he is i say that we trade him for someone unless he has a really good season

Let him play. He is now on the bubble. He knows the only way to get past this negative news, is to play well. I bet he plays with a chip on his shoulder. So keep him and let him loose on the other teams 'D'.

OK, our options are:

Trade - Who is gonna want to trade for a RB with a long history of drug problems that already has two strikes (possibly three) against him in the NFL? A year long suspension is right around the corner IMO.

Cut - While we are semi-deep at the RB position, I think the competition helps out all the backs. But, at the same time, I subscribe to the character counts ideal and feel he probably should go. He has had too many chances to prove himself throughout his career already.

Do Nothing - The Vikes will probably do nothing knowing that the league will do something. If the whizzinator doesn't count as his third strike, I'm sure that he will do something in the future that will.


I wish we could trade him but I don't see that as a possibility. He will probably stay and serve a suspension at some point, but I would like to see him go.

I am for trading him for whatever we can get.
There must be a team like Oafland that prides itself on taking these sorts of guys and "turning them around"...

Get whatever we can for him (preferably another back) maybe Fargas or something.

I don't want to just cut him because A.) there might be reprecussions on the team if he doesn't get picked up elsewhere (he can sue for defamation of character)

B.) somebody is bound to be able to see past this and give us something in return. Even if it's a bag of jockstraps... just take what you can get.

we should try to trade him to arizona, they might give up something pretty good.
