Thread: For Vikings, six-cess something to savor

CARBONDALE - Imagine for a moment that you are a 15- or 16-year-old who happens to play golf at a high level, and you are with a handful of other 15- and 16-year-olds who are similarly capable.

You have banded together to achieve a common goal even while pursuing individual excellence, as team golf allows. You come within two strokes of achieving that common goal - the IHSA Class AA championship - and, to a person, can think back at a poor drive here, a flubbed approach there, a missed putt over there, that meant the difference between a championship and runner-up status.

And you have lived with it for the past 52 weeks.
