Vikings First draft Picks since '82

I thought this was interesting as we have been pretty good at picking great players in the past. Obviously some were flops, but for the most part we got some good guys.

    1986 1 14 Gerald Robinson DE
    1987 1 14 D.J. Dozier RB
    1988 1 19 Randall McDaniel G
    1989 2 52 David Braxton OLB

yeah, interesting list there. I'd say the flops were Robinson, Dozier, Braxton, Jones, Jenkins, Harris, and Alexander. Stars were Nelson, Browner, Millard, Doleman, McDaniel, Smith, Moss, Culpepper and McKinnie. The rest were so-so with Williams, Udeze and Williamson still up in the air...

Just my humble opinion, of course...

That is actually a pretty impressive list. The vast majority of those guys were very solid players. Especially in the last ten years.

I'm to lazy to look it up, why didn't we have #1 pick in 1985? Who had a worse record than us?

The Bills seem to have had a worse record - they had the #1 pick and took Bruce Smith (not a bad choice).

The Vikes were at #2, but some of 3-team trade happened between them, Atlanta and Houston.
