A Irish minister that attended the ceremonial take off asked them please not to burn the place down when they got there.

Yeah Cajun, I remember the last "Viking ship" to set sail... Along with Captain Fred Smoot.

Re: Viking Ship Sails North Sea!!!
Somehow a trip on that ship interests me. What gets me is that it sets sail for a month and a half ending up in Dublin. So where do passengers sleep and eat? Maybe they dock at a seaport each night and have their evening meal and breakfast on land where they stay. I looked around the website for prices and stuff and it seems I have to write to a booking agent. They give very little information on the boat trip itself.
I probably wouldn't ever go but it seems like it would be a very worthwhile trip and something I can say, "I did it."Kentucky Vikes Fan

This is a special trip, like a science project, to see how a trip across the North Sea would have been for a Viking back when they actually did those raids in England. However the museum has many ships where you can fx. just get a trip around on the water when you visit the museum. That cost around $10 on top of the ticket for the museum.
