Vet lost my cat's ashes...
So the subject says it all...
I took my cat of 21 years to the vet to have put to sleep and did all the paperwork for a return of his ashes in a special urn, etc....
They forgot to tell the crematorium.
His ashes are gone forever; and to boot; my cat was the last thing I really had around still from when my brother was alive.... really hard to explain just how important he was...

Re: Vet lost my cat's ashes...
Sorry to hear about that bro.
One of our cats passed away a couple years ago and we had his ashes put in a wooden box.
He was a really cool cat.
I would be super pissed if they lost him.
RIP Smokey and your cat.Skol!

Tough loss there bro.. Very sorry for your loss
I have a cat that has alot of sentimental value to me and can't imagine how it would feel after 21 years.. They become a friend

Re: Vet lost my cat's ashes...
What was their explanation?
Was it oops?
That is really sad, especially when you are counting on people that should know what they are doing.
It isn't like you could do the service they charge for on your own.
What can they do about it?
What are they going to do about it?
At least be glad they didn't just throw some ashes in the urn and pass it off as your cat?
They at least told the truth.
That isn't much of a consolation but the truth is better than walking around with some other cat in your urn.
We like our possessions.
I am not trying to tell anyone that it is wrong to have possessions.
But I am trying to get at the fact that as living beings, we are spirits.
You can't contain a spirit or possess it.
Just something to think about.
I totally under stand the symbolism of the spreading of the ashes though, it goes along with the releasing the spirit.
I can understand the urn also because everyone handle grief in different ways.
Sorry to hear about your cat and your brother.

Re: Vet lost my cat's ashes...
I would demand and explanation or some sort of reparation.
If someone had lost my pet's ashes, they wouldn't hear the end of it.
Sorry for your loss.Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.
