Very, very angry
I'm starting this topic becuase I'm infuriated! Allow me to set the stage:
So it's about midnight right now, and what am I doing? I'm sitting in front of my computer typing a paper for school! I'm a senior, and I'm 3 weeks from graduation! Three! And what did I have to do this weekend? Type two research papers. I wrote 10 freaking pages today! Good gosh, I've had 4 years of AP classes and now with 3 weeks left until graduation, when things should be settling down and people should be taking it easy, they're piling more work on us than we've had to do all year! There's something seriously wrong with that :!: Sorry...just a little upset with the system.

Re: Very, very angry
If you do go to college be ready for those papers all week. I think most of my upper division classess required at least 6 pages for my normal assignments. And some required the full notations.
That does suck, just think though in three weeks you'll be sitting pretty all done with HS.

Re: Very, very angry
I'm in my junior year, only one more year left... Thank god.
I'm not too sure what I want to do with my life yet though. I'm not sure if college is right for me.
That really does suck though, two weeks ago I had to do a 10 page research paper on a career I'd like to pursue. For people that don't know what they want to do with their lives, it's really hard.
But just think, three more weeks and you're out of there for good.

Re: Very, very angry
But it will all be so worth it.
And since the drinking age is 21 now unlike when I went to college.
You will have more time to study..........
Oh who the hell am I kidding?
You'll be doing extra work and getting slammed.
But it will be fun!
And if it helps I have to write reports, reviews and new work processes every week.
Trust me after college you will be able to spit those things out like sunflower shells.
Most of the time you will have 75% of it written even before you put pen to paper
So take heart young Padwon, there is a light at the end of that tunnel.

Re: Very, very angry
Yeah, I realize it will get worse before it gets better. It's just hard to find the motivation at this point. But...I am going to college to become a history teacher, so I'll be writing plenty of other looooong papers before I'm done. Plus, I have to write a thesis for the Honors College...my sister just did hers and its about 40 pages long, so I guess I'll have to get used to it! Can't wait til Summer though.

Re: Very, very angry
Wait till you go to college and work on your masters. I had 2 papers per week (an individual and group) plus a power-point presentation to prepare half the time. That coupled with full-time job and everyday life left me no time for anything. I don't envy you but congrats on your soon to be graduation.

Re: Very, very angry
High school is a breeze compared to college. Although you have a lot more freedom, all you do is write papers. The Professors IMO are also a lot pickier on the quality of the papers. The worse thing is though, is that you can have 6 papers all due at once depending on your schedule, and the professors do not have any sympathy about that either!

Re: Very, very angry
Writing papers is not fun, but it is like a rite of passage in college.

Re: Very, very angry
I have to agree with most the people here. I took Full I.B. in high school and had to write a 20 page paper on the Fall of the Roman Empire. Then I go to university and found out it was a helluva lot more work than that :P.
