    42. Monticello, Monticello, Minn.: 1 in 52,632 chance each year. Old estimate: 1 in 38,462. Change in risk: -27 percent.

Hardly any chance I get vaporized!!:cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Not sure I buy any of it. If the new york one is 1 in 10,000, and let's say the plant will operate for 50 years, then you get 50 in 10000, or 1 in 200. Not the best odds.

I was thinking the same thing when I first read through this.

It's hard to tell exactly how much risk we're at... We have the conservative Fox News telling us that nuclear Doom is eminent, buy oil! and the liberal MSNBC telling us that nuclear power is totally safe, nothing out of the ordinary in Japan and we have nothing to fear...tell that to the folks getting scalded from radiation wading through the water by the Fukushima plant. My guess is the truth is somewhere in the middle.

On a side note your old favorite roommate is working security up at the Monti plant now. Sporting an AR15 and a .45 side arm.
