    Re: Under cover cop cars.

Quota's for tickets is NOT a myth.

Departments nationwide do things differently. Some departments have a "normal" workload of paperwork (or tickets) that a typical officer should complete. This factors into promotions, etc.

Lights on an undercover vehicle can vary by department, etc. Lights can be found behind grills, in side mirrors, on visors that can be flipped down, as well as many other areas. If you are not sure it's a police officer, turn on your hazard lights and proceed to the closest busy public place (such as a gas station, mall parking lot, etc.) before pulling over.

You can safely drive up to 9 miles per hour over the speed limit on highways (conditions permitting) and not have to worry about a ticket.

Some police officers are power hungry a$$holes, but most are respectful professionals that have families and are good people.

And as an officer myself I've seen thousands and thousands of people break the law right in front of me and I chose to let it slide. Try to remember this the next time you see a cop go above the speed limit or fail to completely stop. Matter of fact...I can't remember the last time I actually pulled someone over and gave them a ticket. Usually it's a verbal or written warning. Unless the driver is a Richard Head. I flat out refuse to be a money making pawn for any government.
