this is a little bit more than an oops! This is why it is very important to know your geography. he didn't realize he was going the wrong way until after he arrived?

"I didn't notice the mistake as my son is usually good with computers," his mother, Sabine, told Reuters.
Oh, Sabine, I bet he probably doesn't do drugs, either.

"I did wonder but I didn't want to say anything," Gutt told the Bild newspaper. "I thought to myself, you can fly to Australia via the United States."
    LOL.
Right... it would be MUCH faster to fly to Australia via the US.

Didn't he look at the ticket or the flight departure screens. They are clearly marked with the destination cities & states/countries.

Not to mention the pilot usually announces over the loudspeaker where they are going to.

"If at first you don't succeed, parachuting is not for you"

Wow! That is rough. Exactly how much sense does it make to fly the whole way across the United States to get to Australia? This guy definately needs a geography lesson.
