twins killing their next season already

I was reading on Sports Illustrated and this kind of shocked me. If i was the Twins i would do anything to keep Santana. Your already losing your second best player (hunter) in the offseason, along with veteran starter Silva, you had pitching issues last season, especially the first half, Why the hell would you not pay your ace pitcher and top player anything he wanted. He guarentees them at least 15 wins every year.

Because the Twins have always been tightwads and built from their farm system over the year instead of keeping top $ players. But if they play terrible (which they probably will for a few years) that brand new stadium they are building at the taxpayers expense will more than offset losing at the box office for the owners.
