Re:Top Threads and Posts of 2009 for pp.o
My favorite post of all time was in the Barney thread (sorry, "noodle" thread)
I apologize, because I will never find the darn thing.
Either myself or one of the other Puker fans was waxing eloquent on the record of the Packers, etc. One of us mentioned our last Super Bowl, or some-such...you know, our "usual" fall-back position.
Keep in mind that Barney had signed within minutes/hours of when this discussion was occurring...
So I believe I have set the scene accurately---
Puker fan: "Oh ya, well we won a Super Bowl in '96, what have you won?" yada yada yada
Vikes fan: (God, I still laugh)
"Well, it took our quarterback for you to do it."
I cannot beat that kind of smack/logic on my very best day. :P

BTW, I was wrong about your team. They are better than I thought.
I'm glad we will be able to find out how good they really are.“What takes a quarterback to the next level is not arm strength or mobility or any of that stuff. It’s the ability to play on critical downs. Manage third downs, or red zones or four-minute or two-minute situations"

I've been on the site for seven years or so and all I can say is pp.o is a living 'groundhog day'. After a loss or two the world is ending. After some wins we are the best team in the world. There is a scapegoat, always. The offseason is hilarious and the opinions of the FA/draft success are almost always wrong. There are always new members that join that are going to school everyone with their football 'knowledge'. Statistics are almost consistently used incorrectly. The pooled NFL experience, or, for that matter, football playing experience and football coaching experience at any level hovers around <5%...professionally, less than 0.1% of the members, yet, we are all experts. Fake friends are abundant. The good thing is that many real friendships have formed within the mess that many of us call our Internet home.BadlandsVikings wrote:
Like you need to ask........ :PWhat were the top discusions of pp.o for year 11 of the site?
1. The Noodle
2. The Draft
3. The lack of activity in FA
4. Chillers contract
5. Boobies
I still want to hear from the crowd that hacked on the organization for number 3 after the first wave a FA was over........snicker......
Good post asshole.

Re:Top Threads and Posts of 2009 for pp.o
I totally missed the PPO Oscars thread. I will have to look through all of those when I am hungover tomorrow.
The whole Bono thing this year was pretty funny.
The off season was insane here with the TJ thread. Then the whole Favre stuff and Webby threatening to shut down the site if he signed with us.
And we have had big changes to the site this year. Total makeover.
Who would be the new member that has join us and made the biggest impact this year? We're bringing purple back.
