    Thief steals $20,000 from State Fair turkey sandwich stand

    A thief distracted employees at a State Fair turkey sandwich stand and made off with $20,000, police and employees said.

    While employees at Turkey To Go got a good look at the suspect when he came by around 6 p.m. Thursday, there were no still no arrests as of Monday.

    "One guy came up and bought a sandwich and what happened was he requested skin. We don't get that very often," owner Greg Keil said.

    Within minutes, Keil noticed the safe was both open and empty, and two bank bags containing their entire day's take were missing. The safe apparently wasn't locked and anyone could see it from the counter.

    That must be a good turkey sandwich if they make that much a day.
