Texas reporter has witnessed 315 executions

Texas reporter's seen unrivaled number of U.S. executions

By Dave Alsup
CNN

It takes seven minutes to execute a death row inmate, according to the state of Texas. At that rate, Mike Graczyk has spent about 40 hours of his life watching men -- and a few women -- die.

Graczyk, a correspondent for The Associated Press, is believed to hold a macabre record. He's almost certainly watched more executions than anyone else in the United States.

I'm not necessarily against this form of punishment but don't think I would want to watch - unless I had a family member or friend directly tied to his/her crimes...but even than I'm not sure.
315!?
I wonder if this reporter has some issues of his own.

All of them got off easier than their victims did.
At least these knew when and how they were going to die.

I've never witnessed one, but it must be easier with the injection rather than "Old Sparky".

Re: Texas reporter has witnessed 315 executions

It's ridiculous that we're still executing people. But to actually witness 315 of them? That's nuts. But I guess if it's part of your job, you gotta do it.
