Tanks Roll In Beijing
http://www.smh.com.au/news/off-the-field/tanks-darken-the-grey-atmosphere/2008/08/12/1218306898047.html
A fleet of armoured personnel carriers with camouflaged 40-millimetre guns quickly surrounded the Olympic venues amid stepped-up security yesterday morning - and suddenly the tone of the Beijing Games took a nasty turn.
These are not the feel-good Olympics the Chinese wanted projected to the world.Kentucky Vikes Fan

When you require nothing, you get nothing; when you expect nothing, you will find nothing; when you embrace nothing, all you will have is nothing.

Re: Tanks Roll In Beijing
China is definately taking some hits.
First the smog, then the lip syncing girl (because the 7 year old who sang wasn't "cute" enough), and then the issue with the Chinese filling vacant seats with volunteers so people can't see how many ticket buyers decided not to go to the games.
It is crazy.Zeus wrote:

Re: Tanks Roll In Beijing
First off it's China.
For anyone who has bought any of their shiny, cheap stuff that looks like the real deal but falls apart after a few weeks this should all come as no surprise.
They are trying to modernize and become the premiere country in the world at an astonishing pace. The sad part is that it probably won't be very many years and they will pass us in quality and innovation and we will have nobody but ourselves to blame.

Is that really China's idea of a "camouflaged 40-millimetre gun"? Put a big black sock over it? ooooh...where'd it go?
