NWA mechanics will strike tonight but the big wigs say it does not matter because we have "replacements" um i dont want to fly on a plane fixed by replacements.

No need to worry. The replacements are all the old mechanics that got laid off in 2002 that they're going to be bringing back. Lot of mechanics lost there jobs in 2001 2002, my cousin was one of them. He was saying that the unions have lost strength due to enough unemployed airline mechanics looking for work and will work for a lower wage to start then what the current employed mechanics make now.

yeah but dont they lay off the crappy ones first. btw all the bigwigs sold their stock [NWA] i am totally pro union and we need more members. by we i mean the coservative democrats.

they likely lay off the meachnics with lowest seniority and then the ones that are closest to retirement. Strike that, the ones closest to retirement were probably given incentives to leave. Needless to say, the strike busters are probably younger folks.

col- scabs never win, when the strikes over the union remembers who crossed the line. we had a teacher cross a line when there was a strike in the 80's when the strike was over NOBODY would even look at him.

I dind't mean to suggest that the strike busters would win or would lose or what ever.

Clearly, this situation could really benefit from MORE COWBELL!
