Star Wars turns 30
Friday marks the anniversary of the 1977 movie that made it cool to be a sci-fi dork.

"Thirty years ago this week, "Star Wars" crashed on the screen, and within weeks the film had revitalized the very idea of being a sci-fi geek. You could take a girl to this movie. Twice, even."
Ok I will admit it. It is one of the things I remeber s a child. Waas standing in line waiting to see Star Wars, watching the movie and thinking how awsome I thought it was. To me I think that started my like of Sci-fi. I wouldn't call myself a geek, But I am a sci-fi buff.

I love Star Wars (obviously). The original movies were great, the newer ones were OK. The Star Wars "universe" goes far beyond the movies though....and the books and additional stories that have come in wake of the films are great too.
Happy birthday to the greatest movie franchise of all time!
