Thread: Squirrel Huntin'

So for the past two weeks, my father and I have been hunting squirrels in suburban New Jersey.

Using my dad's air rifle, Crosman Quest 1000x.

Without the scope, we just use the white dot sights. It's a pretty beastly air rifle. Shoots .177 conical lead pellets over 1000 feet per second.

My backyard is about 100 feet deep, it's been raining for 3 days straight, and there was a decent sized fallen tree limb about 70 feet deep in the backyard. My mom was about to take my little brother to football practice and runs in to tell me that there's a squirrel on the limb.

So I spring into action, sprint up the stairs, load up the rifle, open the window, take aim, and.... bam(or a loud click really), I see the squirrel flip off the limb, like a 360 backflip it was awesome, and scurry off.

I am 99% confident that that squirrel is going to be 100% dead.

Using rifles is not acceptable...your supposed to use your bare hands or a rock.

I used rocks as a little kid haha. Only got one in about 10 years.

my gpa uses an air rifle like that lol.. and to him they are "tree rats"

Shot one last year with my 243WSSM .
It makes quite an impression.

I just bought a .17 caliber varmit rifle...the prarie dogs don't care for it very well

You cannot even tell if you hit them because if you did there is nothing left.

You squirrel hunters should all be arrested...it's almost as bad as Vick's dogfighting!!!
