    Sports and advertising

People talk about naming rights for stadiums, look at the link below and see how advertising is now creeping into the other areas of sports. I'll give it less than 10 years before you see sponsors logos on uniforms- in the same way as happens on soccer shirts in Europe and South America.

You read the business section of ESPN? In that case, I also designate you to be the person that keeps this site up to date about the bass tour and the rodeo.

Not quite as sad as that ..lol but saw it flagged up on the espn homepage. You see it now on the uniforms in NFLE, how long before it reaches the NFL proper

well most things associated with games are sponsored, from prize seats in the stadiums to the TV Blimp used by ABC/CBS etc etc how long before the owners twig that they can get more money in for the team

Looks like the MLB is not gonna let it happen now. After a public outcry and plenty of congressional intervention, the MLB and Columbia Pictures have abandoned the idea of logos on the bases. They will still be in the on-deck circles and running on the jumbo-trons. Ugh! I'd hate to see the Wolverhampton Doritos logo on the Vikes' jerseys!!

I'm glad to hear the bases won't be pastered with spiderman ads. There are certain fundamental things in each sport that should not have ads on them.
